About Us
Hands On Bay Area (HOBA) creates opportunities for people to volunteer, learn and lead in their communities. We manage 120 direct-service projects a month and offer educational programming to help volunteers to become well-informed community leaders.
For corporate clients, HOBA offers comprehensive volunteer project planning services in a wide-range of issue areas. We are experts in optimizing the effectiveness of volunteers while ensuring a rewarding volunteer experience.
Every year, our volunteer projects provide more than 50,000 hours of free service to 300 nonprofits across the Bay Area. Our projects are designed to meet critical community needs including education and literacy, HIV/AIDS, health and aging, homelessness and the environment.
For volunteers, HOBA offers convenient scheduling to accommodate a range of commitment levels. HOBA's Web tools give volunteers an easy way manage their participation, create teams and learn about new opportunities. HOBA also gives volunteers opportunities to deepen their knowledge of community issues through its book clubs, film screenings and discussions. HOBA's leadership training programs give volunteers a chance to develop personally and professionally.
Hands On Bay Area is an affiliate of the Points of Light & Hands On Network, an international alliance of innovative volunteer management organizations.
